While watching the Oscars, shortly after Jeff Bridges wins for Best Actor and we discuss at length how he really IS The Dude in “The Big Lebowski”…
Wife: I’m so glad Jeff Bridges won. I hope you picked him in the office Oscar pool.
Whinger: Of course I did. Even if he didn’t do that great of a job in this movie [Note: Speculation. I have not seen said depressing country star movie.], he was going to get it as a lifetime award.
Wife: Right.
Whinger: I mean, I loved him in “Stick It!”.*
[Pause.]
[Still pausing.]
Wife: I love you.
*For those who are not thirteen-year-old girls, this was the movie out a few years ago about gymnastics. Jeff Bridges was the coach. He was awesome, as was the movie, which I may or may not own.
I have watched “Stick It” about 47 hojillion times. Cinematic gold it is not, but somehow I keep watching.
I love Jeff Bridges and I am glad he won – that Oscar is really going to pull the room together.
HA. I have not seen “Stick It” BUT I have watched “Bring it on” and “Drop Dead Gorgeous” a few too many times.
And how did the cough drops come out? I think Wife is a superhero.
